White Horehound Medicinal Live Plant
Horehound requires little maintenance. A perennial member of the mint family, it can become invasive so can be kept in a container. The leaves have a distinct furry texture and meatiness to them that makes horehound a remarkably hearty herb. It's known for its bitter taste, something between root beer and licorice. White horehound leaves can be used for digestion problems including diabetes, loss of appetite, indigestion, bloating, gas, diarrhea, constipation, and liver and gallbladder complaints. A cup of horehound tea may help to decrease the pain of a sore throat caused by cough and may boost digestion. The tea can be consumed using dried or fresh leaves. Just steep the leaves in boiling water for 5 to 10 minutes and add sweetener if desired.Caution: As with every herbs, do your own research before using. Large amounts can cause vomiting. Applying white horehound directly to the skin can cause skin reactions.Currently growing in a 4” pot, will ship bare root with some dirt intact.
